Trees are always great in a garden and there is always a suitable one, whatever the size of yours. As for shrubs, there has been a move recently to use flowering shrubs along with perennials, which strikes me as somewhat obvious. I would try to use such shrubs under the trees in your garden and in your borders. All of these shrubs and trees grow in my garden.
